Organization

The activity of organization started in  1992, when Polish Association of Plastic Converters was established on founding meeting in  Sochaczew.

Next in 1996 the seat and office were moved to Gliwice.

In 2005 the headquarters was moved finally  to Warsaw, where the organization acts till now.

To assure a constant information and support  the organization took care of an access to strong background joining  the structures of European range.

In 2006 the Association became a member of EuPC-European Plastics Converters Association in Brussels.

EuPC  totals about 51 European Plastics Converting national and European industry associations, it represents close to 50,000 companies, producing over 45 millions tones of plastic products a year. EuPC represent plastics processors in matters of legislation created in Eurpean Union.

In 2008 Board of Association Management started work on transformation of Association into Employers Union. Finally in 2009 the process was ended and Association started its activity as Polish Union of Plastics Converters.  

The Union is a member of Polish Confederation of Private Entrepreneurs  „Lewiatan” based in Warsaw.  Lewiatan is concentrating 56 branch and regional unions. It represents about 3.000 companies. Confederation monitors and  reviews changes in economical law .There is also an office of Confederation in Brussels.
Inside  the PUPC there is also Council of Experts ,which is acting for the members use .The Council consists of researchers working with plastics .Union uses on an ongoing basis the legal and tax consultancy provided by professional  advisors.

Membership of the Union is open to plastics processing industry employers operating in the Republic of Poland or employers indirectly related to the plastics processing industry (§8 of PUPC Statutes).
