PUPC General Meeting elected the new authorities

The General Meeting of the Polish Union of Plastics Converters was held on June 14 to sum up the last year and to set the new objectives. The authorities of the Union were also elected. The function of President of the Board was again entrusted to Tadeusz Nowicki.

The board has also new members: Paweł Kiełczawa and Lech Skibiński. Paweł Kiełczawa graduated from Wrocław University of Technology and Ecole Superieure des Mines in Nancy. During his career he managed Danone factories and currently he heads the Polish branch of the French company Guillin, offering standard and innovative packaging for the food industry.

Lech Skibiński has been associated with Corporation KGL for over 28 years (now he is the Vice-President of the Board). The company is a supplier of thermoplastic polymer granulates and a manufacturer of plastic food packaging as well as production tools for thermoforming and injection moulding machines.

- I would like to thank the members of PUPC  for placing their trust in me once again, and I consider my election as a serious challenge in a situation where we, as the industry, are facing a number of issues. Particularly important are those related to the SUP Directive and its implementation, the new Extended Producer Responsibility system, and the deposit system (DRS). I am sure we will not run out of work - said Tadeusz Nowicki, President of the Management Board of PUPC.

The General Meeting also elected the Supervisory Board whose chairman is once again Marek Górski. The other members of the Supervisory Board are Małgorzata Kot, Agata Mach, Stanisław Chmielewski and Jakub Franek.

For the reasons of health safety, the Meeting was held online for the second year in a row. The participants summarized the activities of last year and presented such issues as the implementation of the SUP Directive in Poland, the Extended Producer Responsibility, the situation of recyclers during the pandemic, the plastic tax and the deposit system.

In upcoming months the organization will continue to work on planned changes in the field of environment: waste management, recycling, environmental protection, as well as on the Circular Economy, and the deposit system (DRS).
