PUPC's position on postponing PLASTPOL trade fair

PUPC Press Release 02.04.2020

Polish Union of Plastics Converters understands the decision caused by the evolution of the worldwide epidemic situation to postpone the PLASTPOL trade fair to October 6-9, 2020 and expresses deep hope that this event,  important for the entire polish plastics industry, will take place as soon as circumstances allow.

The profound economic effects of the epidemic will affect both the plastics industry and perhaps even more the exhibition and conference sector. The organization of PLASTPOL in autumn 2020 will emphasize the role that this event plays in the field of the plastics processing industry. It will show the way to overcome the difficulties that are going to face us in the near future. PLASTPOL will help in quickly rebuilding what is now lacking the most: the relationship among people, suppliers contractors and business partners.

During the epidemic, plastics have shown how important role they play in protecting our health and how necessary they are in many areas of life. At the moment, we should particularly try to change the image of plastics in public eye and promote their various usage.

25 years ago, in autumn 1995, Polish Union of Plastics Converters during a meeting in Kielce made a strategic decision to provide its support in organizing the first edition of the PLASTPOL fair. Over the next few years, which were sometimes good, sometimes bad for the plastics industry, we could count on mutual help and support between PUPC and Targi Kielce. In this difficult period that we have today, we will support all activities of Targi Kielce aimed at maintaining the organization of historic PLASTPOL fair. We decided to postpone the date of our yet traditional international conference to October 5 and we maintain the intention to organize it at Targi Kielce.
